Sailing Elopement in the San Juan Islands of Washington state

Kat & Carl live on one of the San Juan Islands in Washington state, which is one of my favorite areas in the PNW to enjoy being immersed in nature. They love island life, and wanted to ring in the celebration of their marriage in a place that meant a lot to them—they chose the neighboring island to their home, Cypress. A green, lush island that doubles as a nature preserve, Cypress was the perfect place for them to say “I do.”

Sailing from Guemes to Cypress

Across the Bellingham Channel, Cypress Island is a beautiful green space with no permanent residents and lots of hiking & coastline to enjoy.

Cypress Island Ceremony

A ceremony on a cliffside overlooking the Puget Sound, officiated by a close family friend, followed by champagne toasts from loved ones.

Cypress Island Hike

An unmarked hike, the sort of place you’ll only find if you’re being guided by a local, followed by a picnic back on the beach.
