Truth or Consequences, New Mexico isn’t just a town with a funny name—the lake pictured here is just one of the hidden gems in this corner of The Land of Enchantment! There are also hot springs, a quirky ‘old west’ downtown, tons of little shops & cafes, as well as endless desert to wonder at. If you’re wanting to elope at Elephant Butte Lake, I highly recommend doing it at sunrise! You’ll be able to avoid the crowds, enjoy some cooler weather (it gets wicked hot here in the summer) and the light on the rock formations surrounding this beautiful body of water are stunning in the morning light.
